Register Voters at Secular America Votes table, Coeur d' Alene City Park's Civic Action Festival

Our next “event” is a SAV table at the Civic Action Festival – Coeur d'Alene City Park near the Bandshell – on Saturday, September 15th.

If you happen to be available that day for a couple hours (anytime between 4:00 to 8:00) we’d sure love to have you join us.

Seeking volunteers to assist in registering voters at our Secular America Votes booth on Saturday, September 15th for the Civic Engagement Alliance’s Civic Action Festival, Coeur d’Alene City Park and Bandshell.  Please contact Elizabeth @   or  call 208 755-0706  if you can help for a couple hours. Shifts available from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Inland Northwest FreeThought Society members and North Idaho Secular Society members feel strongly that every voice matters and every vote counts, yet too many secular voters are “invisible.”

WE are a political force to be reckoned with. WE are what secular values look like in action.

We had our first well-received registration drive in North Idaho on June 30, 2018, and are asking for volunteers to assist at our table on Saturday, September 15th.

Details: The Civic Engagement Alliance is a grassroots, nonpartisan volunteer organization based in CDA, ID, that focuses on providing innovative & accessible voter education & registration services to the community. Organized by Jessica Mahuron, this is the first ever Civic Action Festival at CDA City Park & Bandshell for an opportunity to meet local candidates, learn about various public-policy issues, and connect with community-based organizations that serve the common good at our booth fair. Volunteer teams will be available to register new voters, update registrations, and set people up with Vote by Mail.

Organizations that have registered to have a booth, to date, include Secular America Votes, Idahoans for Healthcare, Kootenai Environmental Alliance, Coeur d’Alene Education Partnership, Kootenai County League of Women Voters, Moms Demand Action, North Idaho Pride Alliance, T.O.C. Diversity Resource, Reclaim Idaho, North Idaho NOW, Kootenai County Democrats, Idaho Democratic Party, and two student clubs. Coeur d’Alene City Council Member Dan English also registered for a booth.

Campaigns committed to attending the event so far are: Ruben Miranda for County Commissioner, Cory Jane English for ID Senate (D4), Shem Hanks for ID House of Representatives (4B), Rebecca Schroeder for ID House of Representatives (4A), Dan Hanks for ID House of Representatives (3B), Kristin Collum for ID Lieutenant Governor, Cristina McNeil for U.S. House of Representatives (Democrat) and W. Scott Howard for U.S. House of Representatives (Libertarian). Paulette Jordan for Governor volunteers and Brad Little for Governor volunteers will be on-site as well.  The original vision of event organizers was representation on all sides for the sake of nonpartisan voter education & civic engagement. Invitations for local & statewide candidates of both major parties along with various organizations and advocacy groups were sent in July & August.

At the Bandshell will be a program of live music from local artists and opportunities to hear from local candidates and advocates on bread and butter issues such as education, healthcare, economy, and infrastructure. Food trucks & picnic shelter seating will be available.
